We All Can Work

CanAssist established its We All Can Work program to provide and promote meaningful employment and training opportunities for those with disabilities, with a particular focus on those with multiple or significant challenges. We also develop technologies that further this goal. Our aim is to help make UVic and Greater Victoria national leaders in the employment of people with special needs and to serve as a model for organizations across the country.

There are three main components of the We All Can Work program:

CanWork

CanWork creates meaningful employment opportunities for those with disabilities within CanAssist and across the University of Victoria.

TechWork

Our researchers design customized assistive technologies, enabling people with disabilities to enter the workforce or enhance existing employment positions. Called TechWork, this program also helps people maintain the ability to perform their duties in the face of new physical or cognitive challenges.

TeenWork

TeenWork is an innovative pilot program designed to change the life path of young people with special needs by helping them find and retain part-time employment. The program assists teens in transitioning smoothly from school to adult life.
