Technology Showcase

At CanAssist, we strive to develop unique, innovative and practical technologies for people challenged by physical and intellectual disabilities. All our devices are developed in response to requests by - or on behalf of - individual clients, who cannot find a commercial technology that meets their needs.

This showcase provides just a sampling of CanAssist's technologies, which are grouped into seven broad categories. We update the Technology Showcase regularly, so please visit often.

Communication		Education
	Technologies that improve our clients' ability to communicate with others, strengthening their sense of inclusion and connectedness.		Providing tools that help students of all ages learn more easily, explore new fields and excel in areas about which they are passionate.
Human-Computer Interaction		Mobility and Control
	Programs and technologies for people who are not able to use computers in the usual way.		Assisting clients so they can move about more easily and have increased control over their everyday lives.
Sports, Exercise and Leisure		Therapy
	Helping people with disabilities to lead full, healthy and enjoyable lives.		Devices that may be of particular use to physical and occupational therapists who work with those with special needs.
Workplace and Training
	Technologies that support people with special needs in a variety of employment and skills training situations.
