Job Journey Practicum Student

Pronouns: She/her

I am joining the CanAssist team as a social work practicum student in the Job Journey program. I am pursuing a BSW at the University of Victoria, currently in my fourth year. My background is in childcare where I have worked as a camp counsellor, a youth hockey-skating instructor, and as a before and after school care leader. Working with children of all abilities has been a passion of mine and I am excited to expand my learning in supporting those in the Job Journey program.

In my free time I enjoy playing ringette, lacrosse, and basketball, being outside by the ocean, and playing video games.

I am currently living on the territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, as well as the Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. I have deep respect for the resistance fostered in these communities, and I acknowledge the ongoing detrimental effects of colonialism that remain. I am thankful to learn, study, and work on this land as I embark into my journey to the social work field.
