I acknowledge that I live and work on the lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən, Songhees, and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. I have called this home for 11 years, since moving from the lands of the Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation. I benefit from the Douglas Treaties, which were designed to remove Indigenous peoples’ property rights. I would not be here if not for this injustice. I am committed to de-colonializing my work and social practices to build safer spaces for Indigenous youth and colleagues, using my privilege to support Indigenous voices, and continuing to build relationship with the place I call home.
