CanAssist welcomes new Operations Manager

Latest News

CanAssist is delighted to welcome Amy Kilmer to the team as our new Operations Manager.

Amy began training for the position in November, following a decision by our former operations manager, Michelle Cho, to travel and pursue graduate studies.

Amy brings a wealth of experience to the job. After completing a degree in Commerce at the University of Victoria, Amy worked for the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education, assessing students' academic and financial standing for scholarships and bursaries. She also volunteered at the Queen Alexandra Centre for Children's Health.

For six years, she worked at Finning (Canada) as the company's finance administrator. Finning (Canada) is a division of Finning International, the world's largest Caterpillar equipment dealer.

In her new position, Amy will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, including: budget; human resources; job and co-op postings; and CanAssist's specialty teen program, VOCYL.

“I think Amy will be a tremendous addition to the CanAssist team,” said Associate Director Doug Tolson. “She's only been here a month and already she's fitting in wonderfully and proving to be a great asset.”
