CARSA's impressive new climbing wall.The doors of UVic's much-anticipated Centre for Athletics, Recreation and Special Abilities (CARSA) will be wide open to the public during the first weekend in May.

CARSA is the new, state-of-the-art facility that brings UVic's athletics and recreation services to the heart of the campus, and also houses CanAssist, the unique organization that develops innovative technologies and programs for people with disabilities.

Dates: Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3

Time: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day


  • be among the first to experience the newest recreation facility in the capital region
  • view live demonstrations of CanAssist's innovative technologies for people with a wide range of disabilities
  • try the Vikes athletic and recreation facilities for free
  • feel free to wander around the new building or take a complimentary tour

Where: CARSA is located on UVic's campus across from the McKinnon Gym. Paid parking is available in the new CARSA parkade off McKenzie Avenue, and in UVic's Parking Lot 2 off Gabriola Road.

Cost: free to all!

With more than 190,000 square feet of space, there's so much waiting for you to discover in CARSA. We hope to see you there!
