Aphasia Education app
What is it?
The Aphasia Education app plays like a game but was designed with the help of speech-language pathologists who wanted a tool to help care providers learn how to interact with individuals with aphasia. The goal of the app is to teach users about some of the challenges individuals with aphasia face, and how they – with the help of speech-language pathologists – can overcome them effectively.
Key features
a “Hints” feature lists recommended communication strategies- device-wide font size can be increased or decreased as desired
- users can reset the app so new players can play through each scenario from scratch
Who is it for?
This app is useful for care providers to learn how to effectively communicate with individuals with aphasia. Aphasia is caused by an injury to the brain and refers to a set of language challenges, from difficulty reading to difficulty finding the right words to say.
