Territory Acknowledgement

With immense gratitude, I acknowledge the unceded lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən, Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, on which I am privileged to live, learn, play, and grow. These nations have stewarded these beautiful lands and waterways for generations. My family and I are settlers on this land and benefit from the colonial systems and views that harm Indigenous peoples. My commitment to reconciliation is a commitment to lifelong learning and unlearning as we heal and decolonize these lands with Indigenous leadership and wisdom. My love of nature is rooted in my childhood growing up alongside the ocean, trees, and mountains on the lands of the Quw’utsun peoples. I am grateful and privileged to call this my home.
