As a mechanical design specialist, Summer is involved in the design and manufacturing of assistive technologies for CanAssist. Summer graduated from the University of Victoria with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, and has previously worked as a machinist creating parts for aeronautical, medical, and research applications. She's done many odd jobs and projects including: octopus intelligence research, 3D printed prosthetics, battle-bots, urchin population research, and psychological research studies into the benefits of project based learning.
